Prophesee has highlighted development work using neuromorphic sensing with the launch of its Inventors Community.
The first five projects Prophesee features include Gensight Biologics’ work to restore sight to blind patients; a project at the National University of Singapore to give robots a human sense of touch; and tracking space debris by researchers at Western Sydney University.
If you’ve already started your holiday shopping, there’s a pretty good chance there are at least a few gadgets on your list. And at least a few of them are probably for you.
A report published by the Consumer Technology Association last month predicted that Americans would spend $142.5 billion on tech this holiday season, mostly as gifts for themselves. (Loved ones like spouses were a close second.)
Most methods of securing SOCs involve storing a root key that provides the basis of all derived keys and encryption of communication. The weakness with these methods is that even if the root key is stored in secure non-volatile memory, there are often methods to read the key. Once a key has been divulged the device can be cloned and its security is compromised. With long and complex supply chains there is a likelihood that physical devices may come within reach of attackers. With physical access, made easy through supply chains or remote deployment, such as is often the case with IoT devices, keys stored in eFuses, Flash EEPROM or even OTP NVM can be detected.
The smart screen—an old idea is re-emerging as an exciting new segment in consumer, industrial, and enterprise client computing. Enabled by new technology innovations in areas such as AI, wireless connectivity, touch, video processing and display drivers –the screen interface is evolving to be a multi--functional control point that promises flexible computing—local and tethered--great security, and more intuitive and efficient ways to interact with a wider range of devices.
A book never written: How to Succeed in Sales Without Really Trying, by Wanda Kind.
Sales acumen is the collection of traits, experiences, skills, and mindsets that enable a salesperson to thrive in their field. But the first thing sales managers want to stress to eager, rising sales representatives is that no one’s born with stellar sales acumen. It’s learned — or rather, it’s developed — a question of nurture more than nature that sales managers answer in the ways that best suit their business.
Synaptics, optimistic about business opportunities arising from digital transformation, is stepping up efforts to expand product portfolios and strengthen deployments in AIoT solutions, according to Roy Chang, its Taiwan sales country manager.
Ceres Holographics in Scotland is extending its engineering deal with Covestro in Germany for holographic automotive displays
Ceres-finished HoloFlekt films are used in automotive displays as a holographic optical element (HOE). The joint works will focus on the customization of Covestro's Bayfol HX photopolymer together with the Ceres mastering and replication technology that enables production of the finished HoloFlekt functional films.
In 2019, a Pew Research Center survey found that nearly 80% of U.S. adults were “somewhat” or “very” concerned about how companies used their personal digital data. In addition, new trust issues and lack of consumer confidence have arisen with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and the surge in the adoption of online services. These trends are worrying for polling and market research firms that rely heavily on gaining people’s trust.
Smart screens are emerging as an exciting new segment in consumer and enterprise computing. Enabled by new technology innovations in areas such as AI, wireless connectivity, touch, video processing and display drivers, humble screen interfaces are evolving into multifunctional control points that offer lightweight, flexible computing — local and tethered — with increased security and more intuitive and efficient ways to interact with a wider range of devices.
